ACCA Knowledge Module

Course Introduction

Knowledge level of ACCA qualification is designed to equip the students with the understanding of fundamental accounting principles and concepts, to provide them a strong base to proceed further into ACCA qualification.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Entry requirements – To register for ACCA Courses, starting at Knowledge level are:

– Two A’Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five separate subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
– Foundation in Accountancy – A candidate can register in FIA without any minimum entry requirements, and on completion of FAB, FMA and FFA will be transferred to ACCA and will get exemption from first three papers of ACCA.

COURSE CONTENTS

ACCA Knowledge module consists of three papers:

  • Accountant in Business (AB)/Business and Technology (BT)

  • Management Accounting (MA)

  • Financial Accounting (FA)

All of the above exams are computer based exams (CBE) and can be taken anytime during the year.

Students get a “Diploma in Accounting and Business” on completion of this level and clearing an online “Foundations in Professionalism” module.

EXAMINATION

Students need to register separately with ACCA for taking up examination for respective papers.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum Qualification: Candidates applying for any of the courses offered under Centre for Continuous Learning should have a minimum qualification of JSSCE (Junior Secondary School Certificate)/Grade 10 from approved Schools within or outside Nigeria, with exception of courses offered to primary and junior secondary students.

  2. Minimum age criteria: A minimum age of 16 years is required for entry into any of the courses offered by CCL. With exception of courses offered to primary and junior secondary students.

  3. English Language Proficiency: All candidates are required to have a basic knowledge of English language; writing, reading and speaking, with the exception of candidates applying for English proficiency courses.

  4. Computer Proficiency: Candidates enrolling for the courses in CCL should have basic knowledge of computer skills.

ADMISSION DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

You are required to submit a copy of the following documents (If application) and show the originals to the Administration Department for Verification:

  1. WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/NBAIS Result

  2. Birth Certificate/Age Declaration

  3. Primary School Certificate

  4. Secondary School Testimonial or Certificate

  5. Degree Certificate/Master’s Degree Certificate

  6. Means of Identification (National ID, International Passport, Voter’s Card or Driver’s License)

REFUND POLICY- CCL PROGRAMMES
a. NATIONAL

The refund policy applicable for Centre for Continuing Learning are as follows:

CCL COURSES REFUND – NATIONAL STUDENTS

FULL FEES PAID BEFORE ENROLLMENT FOR THE COURSE

90% OF THE TOTAL FEES WILL BE  REFUNDED

NO REFUND

100% OF THE TOTAL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED, SUBJECT TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Refunds are only made to the sender’s account

  2. In cases where students opt for utilizing their refund for other CCL programme(s), a letter by the student, attached with the SUN payment receipt to that effect should be written and submitted to the Registrar through CCL

  3. In cases where students opt for utilizing their refund for other Skyline payments, a letter by the student, attached with the SUN payment receipt to that effect should be written and submitted to the Registrar through CCL

  4. Refunds will be settled in the same currency for which payment was made

  5. Refunds cannot be shifted (A student cannot nominate someone else to utilize or take up the refund in his/her place)

  6. No refund will be applicable for students who are expelled/cancelled by SUN on disciplinary grounds.

 

CCL HOSTEL SERVICES FOR NATIONALS

FOR COURSES OF 3 MONTHS AND ABOVE

80% OF THE TOTAL FEES WILL BE  REFUNDED

100% OF THE TOTAL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED, SUBJECT TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Refunds are only made to the sender’s account

c. REFUND PROCESS

The following are the processes a student eligible for refunds should follow to avail his/her refund:

  1. He/she fills the CCL Refund form

  2. Attach the payment receipt given by the finance department at the time of enrollment

  3. Attach a written request for the refund of the paid amount to the Registrar. The letter should be assented by both the student and his/her guardian.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS – CCL PROGRAMME

  1. All required documents mentioned in the admission letter should be completed as per the deadline, which is 2 days before the commencement of the course batch

  2. Course Fees are payable as per the published course fees issued at the time of the Application & Admission processes. These fees are subject to change as per the discretion of the management and becomes applicable from the start of new course batches. The details of changes in course fees will be communicated to students through an official communication channel before the commencement of the next course batch. It is the students’ responsibility to review the official communication channel in order to stay abreast with the changes

  3. Books & Material Fees are payable inclusive as per the published course fees issued at the time of the Application & Admission processes

  4. Transportation Fee is payable for Courses of 3 months and above duration as per the published fees issued at the time of the Application & Admission processes. This fee is subject to change as per the discretion of the management and becomes applicable from the start of next course batch. The details of changes in transportation fee will be communicated to students through an official communication channel before the commencement of the next course batch. It is the students’ responsibility to review the official communication channel in order to stay abreast with the changes. Students can avail Transportation Facilities and will be charged for a minimum duration as per the published Fees Structure.

  5. Hostel Fees are payable for Courses of 3 months and above duration as per the published fees structure issued at the time of the Application & Admission processes. This fee is subject to change as per the discretion of the management and becomes applicable from the start of next course batch. The details of changes in Hostel fees will be communicated to student through an official communication channel before the commencement of the next course batch. It is the students’ responsibility to review the official communication channel in order to stay abreast with the changes. The Hostel Facilities are allocated on first come first serve basis and should be paid in advance for a minimum duration as per the published Fees Structure.   6. Caution Passport Guarantee Deposit is payable for Courses of 3 months and above duration by International Student as per the published fees issued at the time of the Application & Admission processes, and is refundable once the student cancels their VISA sponsored by SUN, as per the required legal procedures. However, in case of any cancellation or additional charges levied by the Government Authorities, the cancellation or additional amount will be recovered from the Caution Deposit, and the remaining balance needs to replenish by the student. In a case where the student does not complete the desired procedure within 15 days of the notification, the Caution Deposit stands forfeited

  7. Caution Hostel Deposit is payable for Courses of 3 months and above duration as per the published fees issued at the time of the Application & Admission processes. The Caution Hostel Deposit is refundable once the student leaves the hostel and completes the handover requirement as per the policies and procedures. However, in a case where there is/are damage(s) to equipment provided or loss of property during the stay, student will be required to pay for replacement as per the original invoice of the damaged item. In case student doesn’t pay the same, the amount will be deducted from the Caution Hostel Deposit, and any additional amount needs to be paid over and above the repayment of Caution Hostel Deposit within 24 hours of notification, else all services will be revoked and student shall not be allowed to access any academic or nonacademic activities.

  8. Fee is to be paid either through direct cash deposit to SUN account or bank transfer according to the fees issued at the time of the Application & Admission processes. The fee is to be paid 48 hours (minimum) before the commencement of the course programme

  9. Tuition fees paid in excess can be transferred to any other course programme subject to eligibility criteria

  10. CCL Programme fees cannot be transferred to Skyline student account UNLESS if the paid programme is cancelled. A student in such a case needs to write and submit a letter to the Registrar seeking for approval

  11. Refunds for cancelled or postponed course(s) are eligible only through the refund application process. Refunds might take up to 3 months from the date of application.
