The aim of the present work is to gain an understanding of some of the factors which control the mechanical properties of dual-phase steels, Both the flow stress and ultimate tensile strength were observed to increase with the martensite volume frac-tions. They also increase with the carbon content of martensite at volume fractions of martensite up to 70%. Above such value, only the volume fraction; affects the tensile stress.
