ATECHNIQUE IS PRESENTRD FOR COMPUTING THE INDUCTED CURRENT, APERTURE FIELD AND SECONDARY FIELD COMPONENTS PRODUCED WHEN ASPHERICAL REFLECTOR IS ILLUMINATED BY A SOURCE AT FOCUS.AN INTEGRAL FOR THE INDUCED CURRENT IS FORMULATED.THE CURRENT IS OBTAINED IN A SREIES FORM.EACH TERM OF THE SERIES SATISFIES THE BOUNDARY AND EDGE CONDITIONS ON THE REFLECTOR. EXPRESSIONS FOR THE APERTURE FIELD AND THE SECONDARY FIELD COMPONENTS IN THE FAR-ZONE ARE ALSO GIVEN.SOME NUMERICAL RESULTS FOR THE CURRENT DISTRIBUTION, THE APERTURE FIELD AND THE SECONDARY FIELD ARE PRESENTED FOR THE SPECIAL CASE OF AN ELECTRIC DIPOLE FEEDER.THE RESULTA OBTAINED ARE DISCUSSED AND COMPARED WHEN POSSIBLE WITH OTHERS PRIVIOUSLY PUBLISHED. a)Thesis (M.S.) - Menoufia University.
