Communication Engineering. this research, concerns the performance of bit synchronizers(bs) for pcm signals. firstly, a brief survey of the different approaches used to build up bs is given. the approaches are classified into two: the first is based on estimation techniques and the second is based on nonlinear processing of the receved signal. the different techniques of realization are also presented.secondly, the performance of aparticular bs belonging to the second approach is presented. the results are compared with the already known bs,s per formance and helps the engineers in their choise of bs for a particular application.an experimental model of the chosen bs is built up along with the circuits needed for measuring the performance. the results of measuring are compared with the clculated ones. a)Thesis (m.s) - Menoufia University.
