The aim of this work is to investigate the prob-lem of manufacturing soare parts in egypts.Generally speaking. there are many manufacturing systems for the production of such spareparts. Spars parts are categorized by volum & variety conse-quently the appeopriate manfacturing system is recommended.It is suggested that group technoioy is used as a techique to elassify the components into families & grroups.The study shows that,the apporiate manufacturing system used to produce these sparearts, is operated on gt principle & equiped with numerically controlled to gether to form cells .The work is started by formulating the spareparts manufac-”curinG problem, the seLecting and the study of most suitable manufacturing system used to produce them . Concequently, it is extended to study the information rep- resenting such systerni NC ~achine tools.
