Genetics is a special area of Biology which focuses on heredity (inheritance). For common people, it is looked at the exercise of matching people’s look, character etc. and frequent comment comes as “the person is like father, like mother etc. It is also commonly believed that all these similarities in character, look are related to blood, which is absolutely wrong.

NASH: a silent disease many of us harbor but unaware of

Millions of people across the globe are living with a “silent” disease they’ve likely never heard of. Typically, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) are silent diseases. They have no symptoms. Even if cirrhosis has developed, there are often no symptoms until the liver has become so damaged that the only option is a liver transplant. NASH is set to surpass hepatitis as the biggest reason for liver transplants by 2020 [1].


Coronary artery disease (CAD) is defined as the type of disease that occurred due to narrowing arteries transporting oxygenated blood to the heart, which resulted serious cardiovascular complications including angina and heart attack [1]. CAD is one of the deadly diseases in the world nowadays, especially in the developing countries. It was estimated that, almost one third of middle aged women and one half of the middle aged men in United States were affected with the disease [2]. The disease has become number one killer in the developed countries, with over 7.4 million deaths in 2012 [3].

Can We Live Forever? Genetic engineers say Death will be optional by 2045. Human would be able to live forever. They believe that the aging process will become reversible. Cambridge mathematician, David Wood, and Venezuelan born Spanish engineer José Luis Cordeiro say immortality could be real. The founders of the operating system, Symbian said it was scientifically possible to never die. Their concept was published in a book titled The Death of Death [1].
