A new SUN has risen over Kano State and it’s not going to set – Mr Sriram Venkateswaram

Mr Venkateswaram, who gave his remark recently at the first matriculation ceremony of the university, enjoined the matriculating students to be certain that they have been admitted into a university that is skills based. “When a candidate comes in for an interview after university graduation, we assessed them on everything, from posture to their industry knowledge and skills needed for the job. It’s sad that most graduates are only theory based”, he added.

The Pro-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Mr Nitin Anand, Speaking at the maiden matriculation ceremony of 82 fresh intakes at the university’s mini-campus in Kano, reiterated the university’s commitment to groom knowledge and skill-based innovative education anchored on entrepreneurship. He said, “The University is fortified with world-class standard learning facilities, especially in science and technology, to produce job providers and not job seekers”.

The Emir of Kano, Mohammadu Sanusi II, in his message delivered by Ambassador Ahmad Umar, Dan Maliki Kano, has urged the newly admitted students to take advantage of the state of the Arts facility and quality human resources to build profound future careers.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sudhakar Kota pleaded with the new intakes to abide by the university’s rules and operational guidelines. He said the university was found on good moral standard, honesty and socially responsible students, who will remain positive change agents globally.
