The management of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has hosted the final-year students of Government Girls Secondary School Kano for its changing gear workshop. The program aims to provide the students with the right information for selecting appropriate careers that match their passions and strengths.
Giving the opening remarks, Ms. Sarada Maganti, the Director Academic Support Services (DASS) at SUN, said the university is pleased to host the students. She thanked the teachers who accompanied the students for accepting the university’s invitation for the changing gear program.
Mr. Trimisiyyu Lawal, a lecturer in the department of management, delivered a lecture to the students titled ‘Ethical Decision Making’. He said, “Ethical decisions are like picking what’s not just good for you but also good for everyone else. When you make these choices, you think about what’s fair to everyone involved and identify what’s the right thing to do in a situation.”
He added that “understanding the power of ethical choices is like discovering the superpower within us to make the world a better place.” Mr. Lawal then concluded the lecture by stating that ethical decision making allows one to realize strategic elements such as empowerment, impact, trust and other long-term benefits.
One of the school teachers who accompanied the students to the SUN campus highlighted that the program will deeply impact the career choices of the students. She then applauded SUN management for organizing the program in order to support education in Kano State.
