He gave this remark on Thursday, 23rd January 2020, during the institutions first Governing Council meeting held at the university’s conference room. Among the members of the Governing Council present at the meeting were the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sudhakar Kota, The Registrar, Mr. Firoj Rauta, Alhaji Adamu Yahaya Mai Kifi, Mrs. Fatima Muktar Umar, Alh. Aminu Abba, Alh. Dahiru Adau, a representative of the Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Maria Mahmoud Bunkure, Haj. Najaatu Bala Mohammed, Dr. Sanjoy Pal and Dr. Ahmed Haruna.
The Pro-Chancellor, while delivering the annual report of the 2019/2020 academic year that encompass the commencement of two schools with 15 Programmemes, the enrollment statistics of the university and the various academic pedagogy used in developing the students, stated that it is the mould of training that defines the outcome of the trainee and Skyline University Nigeria will maintain focus towards developing students’ capacities through engagement with industry experts, hands on learning experience like field/industry visits, guest lectures and various competition in line with international criteria and the benchmark of the NUC. “We are liaising with Indian and Nigerian Communities to see how we can come in and give back to the society”, he added.
He also said that the university is committed to developing the capacities of the students to such a level that they will be rated among the world-class professionals at graduation. He enumerated amongst other things that the university’s strategic direction is beyond the shores of Nigeria. “We have over hundred (100) students going into internship and placement because learning in class will not develop the students holistically”, he affirmed.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sudhakar Kota, while making a speech, stressed on the learning outcome-based for the students. He affirmed that through the university’s Programmemes, featuring the total concepts of entrepreneurial studies, leadership development, and skill acquisition, not only amongst the students’ communities but the surrounding communities as well, the university is projected to reach out to as many people in the Country. “This is why we focus on equipping the capacities of our students, so they can continue to generate impact in their various vocations in life”, he stated.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Skyline University Nigeria’s exceptional curriculum was delivered through modern teaching and research facilities. He noted that SUN in recognition of her profile as the first international private university in Northwest Nigeria has been selected by Google to be a hub organizer for the Hash Code 2020 online qualification round.
The members appreciated the progress of Skyline University Nigeria and her adherence to the NUC regulations. They wished the institution of higher learning a brighter future.
