Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has hosted a guest lecture for students on entrepreneurial mindset. The session was conducted at the university’s auditorium and delivered by Mr. Sriram Venkateswaran, the executive chairman of Amarava Agro Processors Limited, Fullmark Commodities Limited, and Fullmark Urja Limited, a seasoned business expert.
In his remarks during the session, the Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., encouraged the students to explore entrepreneurship options right from school. He gave a reference to Aisha Kabir, a student of SUN who participated in the TieU MENA Dubai Competition and excelled. He said the students can challenge themselves by becoming better versions in the business world.
Mr. Venkateswaran, an entrepreneurial mindset said it is a powerful way of thinking that empowers individuals to identify opportunities, innovate solutions, and take calculated risks to create value. He said an entrepreneurial mindset refers to a set of attitudes, behaviors, and skills that enable individuals to spot opportunities, innovate, take initiatives, embrace risk and adapt.
The expert highlighted that the students must possess and practice certain behaviors and attitudes in order to succeed. These are resilience, curiosity, vision, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and resourcefulness.
Some of the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset for students includes personal growth, career success, societal impact, and adaptability.
