Human Resources Department trains Maintenance Staff on Basic Work Ethics and Personal Hygiene

The Human Resources Department at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has organized a training session for the university’s maintenance staff focused on Basic Work Ethics and Personal Hygiene. The training, aimed at improving staff performance and workplace standards, is part of the department’s ongoing capacity-building efforts to ensure that all personnel uphold professionalism and contribute positively to the campus environment.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Surajo Mujtaba, a seasoned lecturer from the School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS), who brought both academic expertise and practical insights to the training. He emphasized the importance of core ethical values such as punctuality, responsibility, respect, accountability, and teamwork in maintaining a productive and respectful work atmosphere. Mr. Mujtaba also encouraged the staff to take pride in their roles, noting that every member of the university contributes to the overall success of the institution.

In addition to work ethics, the training focused significantly on personal hygiene practices, especially in the context of health and safety within a university setting. Topics covered included proper grooming, cleanliness of uniforms, hand hygiene, and the role of sanitation in preventing the spread of diseases. The maintenance staff were reminded that good hygiene is not only important for personal well-being but also for protecting the health of the university community at large.

Staff participants actively engaged in the session, asking questions and sharing their experiences. The Human Resources Department noted that the training would be followed by periodic evaluations and refresher sessions to reinforce the knowledge gained.
