This was revealed on Monday 28th October 2019 when the Head of Sports of the university and sports representatives of private schools in Kano holds a meeting on the university campus for the purpose of the competition. Amongst the visiting team present at the meeting included Lebanon School, Crescent International, Musa Iliyasu College, Intercontinental College, Sankoree International School, Spring International School, Kano Capital School, among others.
While giving the opening remark, Mr. Musa Mohammed representing the management of Skyline University Nigeria said that the reason for the meeting was to design fixtures and form the rules and regulations of the competition amongst the 16 invited private secondary schools. The competition is scheduled to kick-off on the 11th of November, 2019.
“Every year, a selected group of schools and students across Nigeria would meet at Skyline University Nigeria to showcase their physical and physiological fitness in sports. We would take this opportunity to transform lives and create a better future”, Mr. Musa stated.
Earlier while giving the opening remark, on behalf of the management of SUN, the Director of Academic Support Services, Ms. Sarada Maganti, urged the representatives of the competing schools to uphold team spirit among one another during and after the competition. “The ability to work together towards a common goal is an essential part of team spirit that can help your schools to win. Sport is an important life skill. Participation in team sports allows students to make lasting friendships, develop communication skills and feel a sense of leadership”, she added.
