KEDCO & SUN Collaboration Will Commence Short Courses Under CCL Department

The Management of Kano Electrical Distribution Company (KEDCO), during a courtesy visit to Skyline University Nigeria (SUN), has expressed delight over the university’s proficiency in skills and development through the introduction of Short Courses under the Department of Centre for Continuous Learning (CCL). Dr. Vijay Kumar, the Deputy Managing Director of KEDCO gave this accolade on Thursday, 4th February 2021, when he led a three-man visiting team from KEDCO on a visit to Skyline University Nigeria. Other members of KEDCO team are, Mr. Makbul Elahi and Mr. Mailafiya Abdullahi Adamu etc.

While stating the purpose of their visit, Dr. Vijay stated that KEDCO wants to initiate talks with SUN, over the development of some KEDCO staff in soft skills development, particularly in Customer Relations, Managerial skills, Safety Training Programmeme, Soft Skills Programmeme, General Safety and General Education required to maintaining international standard and quality.

Dr. Vijay noted that SUN is excelling in skills, knowledge and Information Technology (IT) education, which are the central focus for KEDCO. He added that KEDCO was interested in replicating the same for the staff and developing them technologically. “We want to continue to develop our staff through our MoU with Skyline University Nigeria until the conditions in the MoU are achieved,” he remarked.

The Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Dr. Ajith Kumar. V.V, while making his comment, stated that the university has already initiated relevant policies and curriculum to ensure an enabling environment that would enhance the training and development of interested KEDCO officials in certificate Programmemes. “We are going 80% practical and 20% theory to bridging the gap between industry and academia”.
