My first achievement is education—Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso

His Excellency Senator Dr. Eng. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, FNSE, has stated that his first achievement is education beyond all his other accomplishments in various sectors. He made this statement today, October 21st, 2024, during the celebration of his 68th birthday, the inauguration of the Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) ultra-modern auditorium that is in his name and other Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in collaboration with SUN and the Kano State government.

The senator, a former governor of Kano State and a former minister in Nigeria, among other notable positions held, explained that “Skyline University Nigeria was my top priority when I scouted for investors to invest in the private higher education sector in Kano State. Today, the world is impressed with the rankings that the university has reached in its 7th year of academic engagements in the state.”`

He explained that “without SUN, we wouldn’t have gotten a significant number of private universities in Kano State.” He then applauded the management of SUN for the establishment of the auditorium in his name and celebrated his birthday with the launch of the three CSR initiatives—The Digital Skills and Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship—an initiative of the Kano State Government for Young Entrepreneurs, A 3-Month Training for Skyline Certificate in Hospitality Practice and Digital Literacy and Teaching Pedagogies—An RMK Initiative to Empower School Teachers.

In his welcoming address during the event, the Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., said, “Indeed, Skyline University Nigeria is proud to celebrate the great milestones today. The event is the latest chapter in the university’s commitment to shaping the future of the next generation.”

The event is also another avenue to honor the life of Senator Dr. Eng. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a visionary statesman and a champion of education, which is visible in Kano State. He said SUN is willing to invest efforts in the CSR initiatives, which will benefit many.

In his remarks during the occasion, Mr. Nitin Anand, the Pro-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, said he is proud that the university has reached this stage in its engagement in Kano State. He appreciated and lauded the support of the Senator and Kano State government for its unwavering support.

The Governor of Kano State, Eng. Abba Kabir Yusuf, in his remarks, said, “I am deeply honored to be here. It is with great pride and profound joy that I witness the university reach an enviable height as it marks 7 years of uninterrupted academic services.” He stated that his government will continue to recognize the efforts of private institutions in complementing public educational activities.
