While speaking at the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Skyline University Nigeria and Startup Kano on Monday 23rd December 2019, Ms. Aysha O. Tofa, Co-founder, Startup Kano said that her organization was partnering with the University for the development and promotion of entrepreneurship and internship among the students to be exposed for practical skills acquisition methodologies.
“We recognized the intent of the university, which is fully entrenched in entrepreneurship development, therefore, we felt the need to associate with them and add value in creating future entrepreneurs. Signing this MOU with SUN is a beginning to nurture the students for their future endeavours and promote entrepreneurship culture among the youth of Kano” Ms. Aysha stated.
The MOU signing coincided with the successful completion of a two-day problem-solving project competition at SUN IT Hub, where students were tasked to conceive, design and develop coding of new Programmemes that are used for applications.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Professor Sudhakar Kota, expressed appreciation on the official MoU signing ceremony and encouraged Startup Kano to ensure that the MoU remains active. “For us, teaching entrepreneurship has been one of the core components in all of our curriculum because we want to train students to make a difference in their life skill through knowledge, skills and value-based education” the Vice-Chancellor added.
Also at the event were the Registrar, Mr. Firoj Kumar Rauta, The Director of Academic Support Service, Ms. Sarada Maganti, the Head of Corporate Affairs, Engr. Bashir Garba and the Corporate Affair Executive, Ms. Nafisa Inuwa.
