The management of Skyline University Nigeria has today, October 12th, 2024, conducted a matriculation ceremony for students of the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The historic event was conducted in the university’s auditorium.
Dr. Saminu Umar, a lecturer in the department of Mass Communication delivered the opening prayers for the important occasion. He prayed for God’s guidance in the journey of the students as they explore their chosen fields of study.
Delivering the opening remarks, the registrar of SUN, Mr. Ahmed Muhammed Abdullahi, said that it is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to this statutory gathering to mark the beginning of an exciting journey for new students. The registrar advised them to be punctual and abide by the rules of the university.
The Dean School of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS), Dr. Sudha Mavuri presented the matriculating students of the school while the Dean of the School of Science and Information Technology (SSIT), Dr. A. Senthil Kumar present those of the science discipline. Dr. Ali Abubakar Chifwang presented the students of the School of Legal Studies (SLS) and Mr. Mujtapha presented students of the School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS).
In his remarks during the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., congratulated all the matriculating students while formally accepting them into the institution. He said, “In this ceremony, you have sworn to abide by the rules and uphold the values of the great institution.” He then reminded the students to shun all social vices and anti-social behaviors.
He challenged them to be an example and role models for youth around the world by making an impact in their communities.
The Head of Students Service Department (SSD), Mr. Trimisiyyu Omotayo Lawal, applauded SUN management and staff for the successful conduct of the matriculation ceremony. He noted that the expectation on the students is high as their parents have invested in them. He motivated them to prepare for a great future during their years of study.
The event was concluded with a closing prayer by Dr. Ajayi Olumide, a lecturer in the Department of General Studies, who thanked God for the successful conduct of the occasion. He sought God’s support to enable the faculty to deliver their best training to the students.
