Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) conducted a pocket MBA program for Zenith Bank staff on Saturday, July 13th 2024. The session took place on the campus of SUN to support the staff in elevating their organization through deliberate thinking of strategic solutions to solving challenges.
In his introduction, Mr. Lawi Abdullahi Isa, the assistant marketing manager at SUN, explained that the pocket MBA session was not only organized as a learning forum for the staff but also an opportunity to network with themselves outside their work environment. He admitted that the program will undoubtedly refine their thinking about leadership in today’s transformative world.
Delivering the presentation titled ‘Strategic Intelligence Leadership: Adapt or Die’, Dr. Sudha Mavuri, who doubles as the Dean of the Schools of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS) and that of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), stated that strategic thinking is a skill that needs to be learnt today.
Dr. Mavuri added that the thought process adopted in coming up with innovative solutions that can support organizational growth is among the top skills needed today. She admitted that, as a skill, it has to be nurtured properly. She then proceeded with a group activity that enabled the attendees to practically understand the essentials of leadership.
The dean explained that “strategic thinking is realized when individuals are willing to abide by rules that support change in thinking and approach.” Learning experience in strategic intelligence thinking includes effective resource management and value creation, she added.
Giving the closing remarks during the session, the Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., thanked Zenith Bank on behalf of SUN management. He encouraged the staff to build on their positives by continually proving themselves in their organization. He challenged them to be role models for others.
