Skyline University Nigeria conducts Safety and Fire Emergency Evacuation Drill

The management of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has recently conducted a safety and fire emergency evacuation drill for the entire staff and students at the institution. The exercise was done to enlighten both staff and students on emergency practices and measures that are necessary to save lives and properties during emergency situations.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Hassan Nanven, the Chief Security Officer of the institution, said that the training is very important to highlight the necessary procedures needed for safety and fire emergency evacuation when necessary. He added that safety is always a first priority at SUN, which makes it invest efforts to equip the department all the time.

In his lecture, SF. Sabo Abubakar Hotoro said the fire drill is a carefully organized and rehearsed exercise aimed at acquainting people with vital information about the steps to take in case of any emergency, like a fire outbreak. The guest explained that there are many causes for fire emergencies, which is why there are several procedures for evacuation.

He also stated that there are several chemicals and equipment used for quenching fires and that is why the training aimed to make the entire community of SUN familiar with them. He then advised SUN security staff to be extremely vigilant and proactive at all times. He concluded that safety and peace in environments are not one man’s job but a result of collective efforts.

The exercise ended with a drill for the entire SUN community, including principal officers like the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., the registrar, Mr. Ahmed Muhammed Abdullahi, the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) and the Director of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Isma’il, among others.
