Skyline University Nigeria launches Future Digital Academy in collaboration with Skyline University College

Skyline University Nigeria’s Centre for Continuing Learning (CCL) has, in collaboration with Skyline University College (SUC), Sharjah launched the Future Digital Academy (FDA) on Saturday, 24th August 2024. The event themed, ‘Unlock your skills, escape the ordinary’ is a timely initiative to support youth with lifelong learning through technology in line with global best practices.

Delivering his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., who was introduced by the CCL executive, Mr. Abdulganniyu Abdulkarim, said the “moment is truly a special one for me because, under my watch as the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN), our institution is launching the Future Digital Academy (FDA) professional skills program in line with today’s technology demands in collaboration with Skyline University College (SUC), Sharjah.”

He admits that “the academy shall provide robust online courses in data science, machine learning, cybersecurity, business and management, AI & VR, tourism and hospitality, and soft skills. I am confident this opportunity will be embraced by the youth, especially.”

On his part, Dr. Deepak Kalra, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of SUC who was present during the event, stated that the program will surely uplift the professional skills acquisition for youths globally. He delivered a session demonstrating how the digital platform works in the presence of SUN management, educational stakeholders from Kano and Jigawa states, principals of secondary schools, media representatives, and other guests.

The session gave a promising future for the guests as they highlighted how impactful it will be to education in Nigeria. Some of the principals of secondary schools present during the occasion include those of Intercontinental Schools, Zayyad Academy, e. t. c.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Sharada Maganti, the Director of Public and Government Relations (DOPR) at SUN, extended the university’s appreciation to the guests for their continuous support of the premiere university. She lauded the efforts of SUN management for always initiating technology-based educational initiatives that will benefit the larger population of Nigeria.
