The Students Service Department (SSD) at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has organized a Professional Skills Development Program (PSDP) for all undergraduate students at the university. The program was designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge they need to progress in their chosen fields of study.
Students from levels 100 to 400 from the schools of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS), Science and Information Technology (SSIT), Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS) and Legal Studies (SLS) attended the programs.
Lecturers from the various departments delivered sessions to inform students about the necessity of soft skills. Some of the critical topics that were discussed during the sessions include a key to success and future careers, interview skills, among others.
According to Dr. Isa Usman, the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS), who facilitated one of the sessions, “constant reminders are necessary on every youth’s career journey. It is one of the imperatives that propels students toward attaining academic goals.”
He then challenged the students to regularly update the journals to monitor their academic performance and know where to improve.
