Prof. Kota made this known on Thursday, January 30, 2020 during an official visit to the office of the Kano State Commissioner for Higher Education, Hon. Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, where he (Prof. Kota) unfolded plans for collaboration between the two parties. “We seek collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education for the benefit of the youth in Kano State” he stated.
The VC stated that Skyline University Nigeria is the first private university in North-West Nigeria with direct foreign investment. He expressed hope that Kano State being the immediate community will benefit from the collaboration as well as the university. Prof. Kota added that SUN saw a potential collaboration with the Government that would benefit the community.
He commended the current administration in Kano State for taking revolutionary steps and bold initiatives in the field of education, which had recorded significant results since its assumption of office, thus making governance tangible to the people.
Earlier, while receiving the august visitors, Dr. Mariya thanked the management of SUN for finding the Government worthy of such a privileged collaboration, noting that institutions of higher learning were set up to provide a solution to societal problems. “We are ready to collaborate with Skyline University Nigeria and this visit will cement the relationship between us”. She added that there was the need to develop a road map detailing the way to progress on the collaboration, for the benefits of all concerned.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Dahiru Adau, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Musa Sherifai, the Director of Higher Education, Eng. Saidu Yakasai, the Director of Physical Planning, Alh. Saadu Farouq, the Director of Quality Assurance, amongst others.
