This was revealed on Thursday 17th October 2019 when the members of the Task Force Committee on Education, Yobe State, paid an official visit to Skyline University Nigeria where Hon. Baba Lawan unfolded the plans for collaboration for the benefits of both parties.
While speaking to an audience comprised of the Vice-chancellor, Professor Sudhakar Kota, the Director of Academic Support Services, Ms. Sarada Maganti, and the Head of Corporate Affairs Department, Engr. Bashir Garba, Hon. Baba Lawan said that there were prospects for collaboration that will, in turn, foster quality education, based on international best practices, on skill-based and entrepreneurship approach that could boost creativity and innovation amongst the students of Yobe State. He added that he wanted the collaboration to be compelling so that students of Yobe State could get admission as well as financial offer.
In his remark, Professor Sudhakar Kota highlighted the university’s plans to introduce new courses to its Programmemes, such as Nursing science, Hotel and Tourism, etc. based on the National Universities Commission’s (NUC’s) approval. ‘We will give the exposure that will foster students’ skills and creativity in current industry trends’, He stated.
Ms. Maganti, while appreciating the team for choosing Skyline University Nigeria for collaboration, explained the concepts of students participation in the various students clubs in Entrepreneurship Club, Software Club, Programmeming Club, App developers’ Club, Speech and Oratory Club and Creativity Club, which will be beneficial to gaining entrepreneurship experience etc. and formally requested the team to take a tour of the university campus that is top-notch and conducive for learning.
