stakeholders, students of the university from the Department of Biology along with the Head of Corporate Affairs, Engr. Bashir Garba, the Corporate Affairs Executive, Ms. Nafisa Inuwa, Head of Department of Micro-Biology, Dr. Sanjoy Pal and the Lab Assistant (Biology), Ms. Maryam, on Thursday 14th November, paid industry visit to the Technology and Business Incubation Centre Kano for practical exposure of students to nourish the spirit of innovative thinking.
While speaking at the meeting held in the Technology and Business Incubation Centre Kano, Engr. Bashir described the visit as a platform that provides students with an insight into the corporate world to improve their interpersonal and analytical skills and to assist them to choose the prospective area of work/business. Skyline faculty members regularly take students for industry visits.
The Acting Centre Manager, Hajiya Fatima, while receiving the visiting team, explained that the vision of the centre is to make Nigeria a technologically competitive nation through the commercialization of research and development results and innovative efforts using technology incubation as a tool.
She appreciated the efforts of the university in the provision of an enabling environment for entrepreneurs to strive. “Students need to have the spirit of entrepreneurship in them which is essential in delivering product knowledge. We will strive to support the students with innovation and value-added services and encourage them to build their different industries”, she added.
The students visited the different enterprises and production centres operating within the centre. This is where all products are developed and tested to the desired quality. This visit was the second in the series of Industry visit for the students of the 2018/2019 session.
