The Student’s Service Department has successfully conducted a one-week professional skills Development Program for levels 200 to 400 returning students. The management of SUN organized the session to reorient students about the necessary information and knowledge that would ensure a seamless higher education career for them.
In their various remarks, the Deans of the Schools of Science and Information Technology (SSIT), Dr. A. Senthil Kumar; the School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS), Dr. Isa Usman Lawal; and the School of Arts, Social and Management Sciences (SAMSS), Dr. Sudha Mavuri, said the session was well equipped for the students to gain the principles that would enable their career successes. They explained that the session covers areas of personal development that are needed today, which is why the university organizes the session.
Faculty from various departments tutored students and motivated them to utilize the skills for personal and career success. Some of the basic topics that were adopted include teamwork and interpersonal skills, communication and presentation skills, planning and decision-making skills, and other essential topics.
Students who attended the sessions expressed their satisfaction with the experience. They said the program was highly interactive and engaging.
