The two-days competition which was held in the Entrepreneurship Lab of the university was organized by Dr. Ahmed Haruna, a Senior lecturer in the department of Computer science, in partnership with the Information Technology (IT) and Marketing department. The competition was aimed at promoting creativity amongst the students.
While expressing his appreciation, Ahmed Haway, a team leader from one of the winning team (100 level) and top best amongst the competing groups, said, the team’s victory was very interesting and encouraging because all that matters were getting the presentations right. “Being selected as a winner is a very great experience for me and the team”, he added.
According to another team leader, Nazir Safiyanu Salisu, first runner up (200 level) and second-best amongst the competitors, “The competition has helped each group to build peculiar Programmemes and applications that would assist new intake in the area of course registration and application”. “As participants, we have been presented with an award certificate and an opportunity for mentorship”, he disclosed.
Earlier, while commenting on the Problem-solving competition, Dr. Ahmed remarked that “The objectives of the event is to produce the best students and to encourage other students to be better by Enhancing students’ abilities in solving critical industrial/organizational related problems. The team’s submission showed creativity, innovation and originality and the use of C/C++ approach added to the overall Programmeme ethos and represented the values of Skyline University Nigeria as such a vibrant university”. “We have changed the narratives and set a new beginning” He added.
Giving his closing remark, Mr. Ahmed Bello, the Head of Marketing commended the students for their creativity and urged the participants to regard the award received as a recognition of their hard work that other students can emulate and make a dent in the universe.
