Vice-Chancellor Advocates Best Entrepreneurship Development for students

collaborations to develop students’ capacities keep pouring in – the latest being the official visit of the co-founder, Startup Kano, Ms. Aisha O. Tofa and her team to the university.

The visit which confirms Skyline University Nigeria as one of the leading Nigerian private universities in terms of international best practices and entrepreneurship development was on 13th November 2019, few days after the university received a courtesy visit from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIMP) on the feasibility of a collaboration between the two institutions to develop the capacities of students and other personnel of the university.

According to Ms. Aisha, “most women in the northern part of Nigeria have been left behind in technology in the past but with Startup Kano Initiative, we have a community of over 5000 women in technology, creating a variety of exciting technology-based jobs and making money from it”. “We feel the need to partner with Skyline University Nigeria to engage the students, particularly females, in the technology incubation acceleration and business development”, She said further.

While receiving the guest, the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Professor Sudhakar Kota advocates that entrepreneurship development for students is a major initiative that the university cannot ignore. And as far as the collaboration goes, the Vice-Chancellor added “a good number of the female students have got the potentials to build startups and to that extent, we believe the students are ready to take the leap with the guidance of the university management”.

He appreciated the team from the Startup Kano Initiative for finding Skyline University Nigeria worthy of the entrepreneurship collaboration in terms of Students internship opportunities, conferences participation, guest lecture series, facility exchange, developers’ festivals participation, business development and every Programmeme that will help build the students potential.
