Registrars' Brief Profile:
THE REGISTRAR’S MESSAGE
It is an honour to be part of a strong and reliable organization that provides a platform for the educational growth and development of not only Kano State but Nigeria in general. Aware of this fact, I deemed it necessary and imperative to serve Skyline University Nigeria as the Registrar to the best of my ability. Skyline University Nigeria has put in place, some of the capable and modern resources, necessary for the smooth running of any university aspiring to have sustainable academic excellence in accordance with the best international practice. Similarly, the university has a rich culture of sincerity of purpose and teamwork. Put together, these would invariably lead to the placement of the University in the position of the best private university in the area of teaching and research in Nigeria. Therefore, I do not doubt that, with the skills and expertise of the staff in Skyline University Nigeria, the products of the University will meet the requirement of the global labor market.
It is gratifying to note that, the University, has commenced professional development and training in the different fields of Science, Arts and Management courses through its established Centre for Continuing Learning. The actualization of this training programme would go a long way in building competence and skills to a large number of professionals in Kano and neighboring state who may not get a chance to travel outside the country to attend training.
Skyline University Nigeria
Mr. Haruna Aliyu assumed duty in Skyline University Nigeria as Registrar on 15th April, 2021. Prior to his appointment as Registrar, Mr. Haruna has served Bayero University Kano for 13 years. Beginning his career in 2008 as an Administrative Officer and rose to the rank of Principal Assistant Registrar. While, in Bayero University Kano, He was the Head Academic Staff Training and Development Unit in the Directorate of Establishment Matters and also a Tetfund Desk Officer. He was a member/secretary of over 25 Committees in Bayero University Kano.
Before joining Bayero University Kano, Haruna Aliyu has served as an Account Officer in Northern Nigeria Flour Mills and later served as Finance Manager Rumbu Sacks Nigeria Limited. He served as a lecturer for Financial Management, Economics and Principle of Accounting in the Directorate of Continuing Education, Federal College of Education Kano on a part-time basis for 12 years.
Haruna Aliyu obtained a Degree in (B.Sc.) Business Administration, Master (MBF) Banking and Finance. Similarly, due to his commitment and dedication to work Mr. Haruna was elected Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, BUK branch where he served for the period 5 years and later reelected for a second term. He is a member of the Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Member Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria and also a Fellow of the Association of Business Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (ABMAN)
He has attended many workshops in the area of Administration, Labor Laws, Human Resources Management and Information Technology within and outside Nigeria. He also has a Presentation on ‘’Interpretation and understanding of local government rules and regulations for effective local government administration in Kano state’’ in a workshop on the organization of general duties of clerks and registry staff of local government in Kano State. He as well has a paper on “Effect of Workplace Climate on Job Satisfaction of Academic Staff in Universities in Kano State’ – in Press.
