B.Sc. Cyber Security

Recent developments in computing, networking technologies, Internet and cloud technologies have guaranteed reliability and secured exchange of digital information vital to most human activities, including banking, medicine, infrastructure management and elections. As the use of information technology expands, so does the potential consequences of cyberattacks, and the impending need for skilled workforce to prevent and defend these attacks. Government agencies, Business Organizations, Industries and the Military are also scrambling to find qualified professionals to safeguard their systems, businesses and infrastructures, hence a huge need for the Cyber Security programme.

Students of Cyber-Security should be able to:

    1. Equip graduates with fundamental knowledge, skills, and strategies to detect and prevent cyber fraud.
    2. Enable graduates to analyze cybersecurity threats, attacks, and risks while developing solutions such as detective codes and software agents.
    3. Provide expertise in cryptography, steganography, and digital forensic science for privacy protection and cybercrime detection.
    4. Prepare graduates for self-employment, cybersecurity-related job opportunities, and professional practice in government and industries.

The objectives of Cyber Security serve to:
