Welcome to the Bursary Department of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN); the financial management hub of the University. The Department performs the Financial and Accounting functions of the University and is charged with the responsibilities of maintaining financial records, rendering financial services and managing financial resources through the efficient application of accounting procedures, principles and standards.
The Department is headed by the University Bursar, who is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration, control and supervision of the financial matters of the University. The Bursar is a member of the University Senate. The department provides efficient and effective service to Budget and Expenditure, Salaries and Pension, Student Accounts and Final Accounts with other units. In addition, Central Stores and the maintenance department have a line relationship with the Bursary Department, reporting directly to the Bursar.
The department utilizes a proper system for accounting financial transactions in line with the planned budget. It also analyses and reports all budget information in order to help the management take appropriate decisions. Equally, the department prepares and supervises the budgetary, financial aspect and management of physical resource facilities on the campus.
Mr Haroon Rasheed
MBA (Banking & Finance) / B.com– Accounting
Mr Haroon Rasheed is an Accountant with over 17 Years of Experience in Accounts & Finance Management. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce, B.COM – Accounting in the University of Punjab, Pakistan in the year 2004 and Master of Business Administration, MBA (Banking and Finance) from Allama Iqbal University, Islamabad, Pakistan in 2008. Mr Haroon Rasheed is a motivated and highly energetic Accountant with passion, a desire to excel, and an accountable member of task/projects with the ability to work under pressure. He possesses 2 years of experience as a Head of Finance in Nigeria, 4 years of experience as Head of Finance in UAE, and 11 years of experience in accounts in Pakistan.
Skilled in all aspects of accounting Mr Haroon is proficient in financial statements, management reporting, general ledger, controlling banking operations, cash operations management, developing customer reports, resolving problems, financial reporting, payroll, AR/AP, auditing (internal & external), risk and financial management. Proficiency in managing entire office infrastructure and facilities to ensure operational fitness thereof at all times, self-starter, creative problem solver, top performer gaining consistent recognition and competent user of different accounting applications. Ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently while meeting tight deadline schedules.
