The CENTRE FOR CONTINUING LEARNING (CCL) caters for the training needs and developmental services of students and professionals from various sectors to enhance their skills and competencies in the field of business, management, leadership, healthcare, IT and others. CCL provides specialized training courses offered by both national and International certification and regulatory bodies such as ACCA, CTH, CISCO, ORACLE, EC COUNCIL, ICDL, FDC and many more. The goal of the CCL is to provide training programmes to students, public prospects and professionals from various fields to equip them with knowledge and transferable skills to better prepare them as employers, employees or entrepreneurs.

AIM

The aim of SUN CCL is to stand out as one of the most preferred professional training centres in Nigeria and the world at large. CCL will continue to develop and partner with national and international certification and regulatory bodies to provide high-quality training that helps participants realize their professional goals and excel in their chosen fields. The centre seeks to provide specialized training programmes on a global scale to attract qualified staff and trainers.

a. The centre works to create an open environment for training and education exchange, through networking and cooperation agreements with national and international centres and institutions to:

  • Develop and build brand image to the advantage of SUN

c. Help in achieving the university’s vision and mission to:

  • Enhance online marketing efforts, website update and optimizing E-marketing sources for brand building
  • Conduct workshops and participate in exhibitions; nationally & internationally
  • Assist Corporate Affairs Office (CAO) and Events Coordinators for brand building activities
  • Support academic initiatives – Conferences & Symposiums
  • Conduct national and international workshops, MDPs and boot camps in coordination with academics.

d. Counsel prospective students in choosing the right Certification programmes to:

  • Enroll students as per CCL enrollment policy & target allocations as stated
  • Maintain enrollment balance between programme target and programme achievement

e. Plan and develop marketing strategies in accordance with SUN strategic plan to:

  • Formulate, implement and review marketing strategies in accordance with the strategic plan
  • Focus and develop market plans for government, semi-government and corporates in Nigeria for SAMSS, SSIT, SLS and SBMS programmes
  • Review marketing activities and propose new marketing plans based on gaps identified
  • Assess impact related to low enrollments, weak promotional events & inadequate marketing intelligence
  • Explore new market segments nationally & internationally
  • Explore schools and universities nationally and internationally, organize online marketing campaigns and appoint agents for SAMSS, SSIT, SBMS and SLS programmes
  • Explore government, semi-government and corporates in Nigeria for SAMSS, SSIT, SBMS and SLS programmes
  • Evaluate and analyze the national & International employment market trends, and the industry requirements for programme review and new programme development
  • Gather market intelligence; for evaluating, analyzing and identifying industry requirements for employment opportunities nationally & internationally.

Future Digital Centre (FDC): This centre offers a suite of courses that integrate data and insights, exploring current business and industry realities to produce digital skill sets that are not only critical to individual professional career but also result in organizational success. CCL is partnered with its sister school (SUC) to offer courses in this division.

Centre for Professional Development (CPD): This division offers different professional courses that enhance and improve professional skills and competencies in the fields of travel & tourism, finance, accounting, marketing, information technology, and others. CCL is partnered with ACCA, CTH, ICDL, ORACLE, CISCO, EC COUNCIL to offer courses in this division.

c. Centre for Executive Development (CED): This division designs and conducts training programmes for executives working in both the private and government sectors. This division do conduct a detailed training and analysis if requested, and delivers training programmes as per the requirements of the organization.

d. Centre for Re-boot & Boot Camps (CRB): The main objective of this division is to design and conduct certificate immersion programmes for students and/or executive. CCL is partnered with universities, agencies, institutions and multi-national companies across the globe to offer courses in this division.

CCL follows the directions provided by the long-range strategic plan AY 2020 – 2024 to enhance the services offered to the student body and industry professionals. In order to facilitate the proper implementation of the strategic plan, the training department prepares the annual plans.

 Q: How can I change sessions in-between semesters?

A: Depending on the policies and availability of the course, you can change the semester or sessions, but only once in the complete course duration. 

 

Q: Can I get enrolled in more than one course at a time?

A: Yes, if the schedule does not clash with the other course(s).

 

Q: How can I get my admission letter?

A: For any SUN assistance, students can directly contact CCL, SSD or Administration Department for more information.

 

Q: How can I avail the library resources?

A: Any student enrolled in the CCL is entitled to utilize the library resources throughout the duration of the entire course as per the library timings.

 

Q: Can I repeat a course If I fail?

A: Most of the courses allow for second attempt examination depending upon the registration validity and choices opted at the time of registration.  In case of failure, students are supposed to check their status with examination department immediately to ensure their registration in upcoming schedules.

 

Q: Where can I collect my certificate?

 A: The certificates will be available with the CCL Department, and students will be notified via E- mail and SMS with information on how to collect them.

 

Q: How can I get a duplicate certificate if I lose my original?

A: Students can request for the duplicate certificate from CCL Department after the payment of reissuance fees subject to the respective course association and its applicable policies.

 

Q: What is the minimum attendance requirement, if any?

A: Students are provided with admission letters at the time of enrolment, which states the attendance policy for the courses.

 

Q: My portal is blocked, how can I get it activated?

A: Please get in touch with the ICT Department in case of any portal related problems/challenges 

 

Q: I am a student of CCL Department, will I get SUN Alumni status?

A: Yes, you will be recognized as a SUN Alumni.

Q: What is the criteria for admission to short-term courses?

A: Anyone who has the required documents for the course of interest can apply for the short courses.

 

Q: What are the documents required for the registration?

A: Admission requirements are international passport (copy), NIN (copy), driver’s license (copy), 2 passport size photographs, and the course fee with a copy of highest attained qualification. 

 

Q: Do you provide international certificates for the courses?

A: Our professional courses are internationally recognized and globally accepted.

     We are an approved centre for the following international organizations;

  • Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH) Approved Study Centre: SUN has been approved by UK based Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality as a study centre for their courses in Tourism & hospitality.
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Silver Learning Partner.
  • The International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) is a member-supported professional organization. The EC-Council is known primarily as a professional certification body. Its best known certification is the Certified Ethical Hacker. SUN is an education partner of the EC-Council.

Q: I’m currently employed in a company, do you provide any fee waiver for working employees?

A: For corporate discounts, the registration must be done through the responsible authority of the corporate firm.

 

Q: Are these courses offered in the weekends as well?

A: Yes, we have weekdays and weekend classes, depending on the requirements of the students.

 

Q: Do you provide transportation facilities as well?

A: Yes, we provide transportation to the students who opt for our Hostel facility. 

 

Q: Do you provide a Visa or Visa assistance?

A: We provide VISA for the following courses: ACCA and CTH Diploma courses, subject government approval.

 

CTH FAQs

Q: Where can I collect my admission kit and membership card?

A: Students are required to contact the administration department for their kit collection.

 

Q: Where can I get the hall ticket?

A: Finance department distributes the hall tickets to all students after ensuring complete fee payment.

 

Q: Where can I get my exam results, and how can I collect my diploma certificate?

A: The exam results are forwarded to your email. ID given at the time of registration and the diplomas can be collected from the CCL or Administration department after receiving SMS notification from the university to collect your certificate.

 

Q: What if I am unable to attend the classes?

A: As per the attendance policy of SUN, students will not be allowed to sit for examinations if they do not attain up to 75% attendance as applicable for the respective course(s) enrolled.

 

Q: What if I miss the exam or fail?

A: Students need to contact the CCL department before the examination deadlines as applicable.

 

Q: What if I want to cancel the course?

A: Students may cancel the course before the start of the course, as per the SUN cancellation policy as applicable.

Q: Where can I collect my admission kit and membership card?

A: Students are required to contact CCL department for examination registration.

 

Q: What exemptions can I receive?

A: ACCA awards exemption to qualifications offered by educational institutions worldwide.

     Some examples are:

Q: What language courses are offered at Skyline?

A: French, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Hausa etc.

 

Q: I’m an undergraduate student at SUN, what are the various short-term courses offered by SLC Department?

A: SLC conducts different language short term courses like CTH, ICDL etc. The duration of these courses will range from one month to three months or higher; based on the needs of the students.  All these courses will have periodic tests and a final test, after which the students are given proficiency certificates.

 

Q: Do I get the certificate after the course?

A: Yes, certificates will be issued by Skyline University Nigeria for all the language courses completed at SUN.

 

ICDL FAQs

Q: What is the eligibility criteria for enrolling for ICDL course?

A: The ICDL course is open to all, including high school students, undergraduate students, post     graduate students, and working professionals.

 

Q: Is ICDL certification recognized globally?

A: ICDL is an internationally recognized certificate programme that provides you with global recognition. It means that you can use your certification to work anywhere in the world and be recognized for your digital literacy skills.

 

Q: Is there any separate exam fee for ICDL?

A: No. The course fee includes exam fee.

 

Q: What is an ICDL profile certificate?

A: You can obtain an ICDL profile certificate when you have passed any mix of modules. The different modules that you choose represent your individual ICDL profile, and when successfully completed, these modules are then listed on your ICDL profile certificate.

 

Q: How does ICDL improve efficiency?

A: With ICDL training, you can learn how to use various software applications, including Microsoft office, Adobe photoshop, and more. These tools can help you streamline your work processes and save time, allowing you to focus on other essential tasks.
