SUN Students Achieving A Rewarding SIWES Experience

A Senior Lecturer of the Department of International Relations at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN), and the University’s SIWES Supervisor, Dr. Benjamin Nwaneri, during a SIWES site supervision to students currently undergoing internship activities, has assured the students of a most rewarding experience as they take advantage of their initial training in problem-solving, teamwork, communications, adaptability and interpersonal skills. While speaking at the SIWES sites, he encouraged the students to maintain a unique character that will distinguish them from others.
 
Dr. Benjamin who had made this visit, along with the Head of Corporate Affairs Department, Engr. Bashir Garba, was acquainted with the students’ progress so far in their different SIWES assignments. He stated that opportunities were available for students with a record of outstanding performances, to excel, not only in academics but to be better people in the society.
 
While thanking the Site supervisors for introducing the students to the practical aspects of the various assignments, i.e, Administration, Information Technology, etc. Dr. Benjamin hoped that the students will maximize their time during the SIWES Programmemes. He enjoined the students to stay safe and follow all COVID-19 safety precautions, as the wellbeing of the students is the university’s concern.
 
Earlier, Eng. Bashir, also speaking to the students at the SIWES sites, enlightened the students on the importance of punctuality, dress code and teamwork. He also emphasized on the university’s cultural ethics, students conduct and discipline. “We are impressed by the students overall wellbeing and their interaction with the staff so far”, he stated.
 
He tasked them to remain punctual at work, solve problems and learn more on the job. On the perspective of communication, he emphasized that a good communication process between the students and the staff during the SIWES Programmeme, would create the right and enabling environment that would enhance creativity and institutional reputation.
