Skyline University Nigeria receives Azman University Kano team on its Campus

The management of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has today, 17th April 2024, warmly received the management team from Azman University Kano on its campus. The team visited the university to extend its hand for partnership and collaboration with SUN, the first private university in Kano State. 

In his opening remarks, the registrar of SUN, Mr. Ahmed Muhammed Abdullahi, started by welcoming the Azman University Kano management team to the university. He then introduced the SUN team present during the meeting which included the Vice–Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., Deans of the Schools of Science and Information Technology (SSIT), Dr. A. Senthil Kumar, Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS) and Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), Dr. Sudha Mavuri, Legal Studies (SLS), Prof. Bashiru Adeniyi Omipidan, Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS), Dr. Isa Usman Lawal and other principal officers of the university.

Delivering his remarks, the SUN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., said the meeting was indeed a positive moment for the management of the university. He said, “Our University is openly looking forward to sharing successful practices with Azman University”. He urged the management of Azman to collaborate effectively with SUN and other universities in establishing a consortium that will amplify the strengths of private universities in Kano. 

Introducing the team from Azman University Nigeria, the registrar of the university, Mr. Aminu Ibrahim Lawal, presented the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Azman, Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar, the Librarian, Mr. Ali Garba, Director of Academic Planning (DAP), Prof. Amina Salihi Bayero, Head of Entrepreneurship Center, Dr. Bilyaminu, Head IT, Mr. Adedeji, Head of GST and Student Affairs Department, Dr. Alhassan Musa Among others.

The Vice-Chancellor of Azman University Nigeria, Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar, said they are grateful for the audience given to them by SUN. She said Azman University obtained its license in 2023 and only kick started its operations recently. Like SUN, she admitted that their university is also dedicated to excellence driven by innovation. In her words “We can overcome our challenges by learning from your experiences”. 

She mentioned workshops and conferences, staff exchange, research and publications and curriculum development as some of the areas where both universities can partner. She lauded the efforts of SUN Vice-Chancellor for his innovative thought of establishing a consortium that will unveil the activities of private higher education institutions in Kano. 

Giving the vote of thanks, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Isma’il, the Director of Marketing and Communications (DOMC), said it is a pleasure having the team on the SUN campus today. He admitted that Alhaji Abdulmanaf Sarina has been a part of SUN even before its inception. He added that reasonable KPIs will be drafted to ensure the smooth implementation of a prospective MOU. 

Finally, he appreciated Azman University for finding SUN worthy of extending a hand of partnership and collaboration.
