Guide Against Drug Abuse – Drug Expert Advises

the Area Commander, National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Municipal Area and guest speaker at the 2-day Drug Abuse Workshop, recently held at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN).

He said that the NDLEA is charged with the responsibility of reducing the supply and consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Owing to this, a large percentage of drug abuse cases is tackled headlong as a result of early protective management system. This, according to him, is why drug awareness workshop is important for the government and people to take advantage of the awareness and advocacy.

He posited that it was good for people, especially students of higher education, to know as much as possible about the negative effect of drug abuse as this would go a long way in helping them stay free of troubles and crimes. While noting that awareness Programmemes like the drug abuse workshop are very important because so many people, including students, abuse drugs without knowing they do so. Alhaji Mustapha, therefore, advised students to maintain their sanity and make right choices where drug abuse is concerned.
