Speaking in the office of the Permanent Secretary (PS), Hajiya Hauwa A. Y. Balewa, the institution’s Director of Operations Mr. Abubakar Ismail, accompanied by the Head of Corporate Affair, Dr. Bashir Garba said, “the scholarship is awarded to candidates who demonstrate an excellent academic track record; and who show excellent professional and personal skills evident through extra-curricular activities in secondary schools”.
While explaining the workings of the Programmemes, Mr. Abubakar noted that students of Bauchi State would have the opportunity to earn Undergraduate Degrees in the institution’s Programmemes which include Economics, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Business & Administration, Accounting, Mass Communication, International Relations, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Computer Science & Information Systems, Biology, Geology, Bio-Chemistry, Physics with Electronics, Microbiology and Software Engineering.
According to the information contained in the official document presented by the management of the institution of higher learning, ₦40 million is allocated to the Bauchi State Government, ₦50 Million to the Bauchi Emirate Council and ₦40 Million to the Bauchi & Alkaleri Local Governments. The modalities of the Scholarship, as well as the CGPA requirements, as contained in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) states that: 15 Students will benefit 50% Discount on the Tuition Fee, whereas 30 Students will benefit the 25% Discount, and 95 students will benefit 10%, making a total of 140 Students from the State.
“The scholarship award is open to applicants from Bauchi State, committed to creating change in their community and who will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the respected state”. Mr. Abubakar added.
Speaking on behalf of the Bauchi State Government, Hajiya Hauwa A. Y. Balewa, appreciated the institution for putting Bauchi State in consideration of the scholarship award and investment opportunities. On behalf of the people of Bauchi State, She promises full support.
