Skyline University Nigeria conducts Maiden Combined Convocation Ceremony

The management of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has conducted a grand maiden convocation ceremony for the classes of 2022 and 2023 on Saturday 18th November 2023. SUN management and the Kano community witnessed the graduation of 197 students, with 54 bagging 1st class, 100 taking 2nd class upper and 43 taking 2nd class lower honors, respectively.

The Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., while addressing the convocation gathering, expressed his gratitude to the people of Kano State and Nigeria, on behalf of the entire management, for the tremendous support SUN has received over the past six years of providing education services.

He said the university is proud of producing equipped graduates that are ready to help the development of Nigeria and beyond. He then congratulated the graduates for attaining a remarkable achievement in their lives. The founder, Mr. Kamal Puri and the Pro Chancellor Mr. Nitin Anand, for their unwavering dedication to seeing SUN thrive.

Delivering the welcome address, the registrar of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN), Mr. Ahmed Muhammad Abdullahi, extended warm wishes to the attendees of the grand convocation ceremony. He said the milestone attained has only motivated the university to be more committed to providing high-quality education to youth.

The founder Chairman of SUN while addressing the gathering, Mr. Kamal Puri stated that “Skyline University Nigeria has instilled life-long learning that would benefit the students for their entire lives. This is surely a memorable occasion. Hence, I would like to entice and motivate you to give back to your community. This moment is a crucial step in your life, as you want to advance with your aspirations. Make impactful decisions that support the development of your communities.”

Special guests who graced the occasion included Wazirin Gaya, former Secretary to the Kano State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, the Director of DSS Kano Command, Mr. Alhassan Muhammad, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, PSC, among many distinguished personalities.

Also, Vice – Chancellors of some universities in Kano that attended the event congratulated SUN for conducting its maiden convocation ceremony while delivering their goodwill messages. They include Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, the Vice – Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK) who was represented by Dr. Kabiru Dahiru, the Head Librarian BUK, Prof. Muktar Atiku Kurawa, the Vice – Chancellor of Yusuf Maitama Sule University (YUMSUK) and Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, the Vice – Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Technology, Wudil, among others.

Graduates were awarded with their certificates and those who excelled were given topper awards during the occasion. Some staff of the university were also awarded due to their outstanding performances.

While delivering the closing remarks, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Isma’il, the Director of Marketing and Communications (DOMC) of SUN, expressed his deepest gratitude to the gathering on behalf of the university’s management. He thanked the parents of graduates for trusting the institution with the mandate of giving their children the best education.

He specially thanked the founder and the Pro Chancellor for his unmatched support right from the onset and his wife for her patience. He appreciated the enormous contribution given by former SUN registrar, Haruna Aliyu, who is now the deputy registrar BUK. He then thanked the Kano community for helping the institution reach this amazing height.
