The Human Resources Department (HRD) is responsible for fulfilling the Vision and Mission of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) by developing sound HR policies that provide a conducive work environment and develops a positive work and learning culture to enhance quality in SUN. The HRD helps in recruiting, retaining, motivating and developing a team of capable and dedicated academic and academic support service employees who are oriented to professionally achieve SUN objectives.
The HRD engages in continuous updates of Faculty & Staff members so as to professionally respond to the day-to-day challenges in the work environment. To ensure each employee keeps abreast with the ever-changing trends, the HRD coordinates the need-based Faculty and Staff development programmes.
- To plan and recruit faculty and staff members from diverse cultural and functional backgrounds to ensure quality of academic delivery
- To plan for employee orientation for current and future job roles
- Providing documented employee records as per the standard requirements

- To review compensation and benefits
- To review, develop and implement HR policies
- To retain employees and enhance belongingness.
- Ensuring recruitment is done as per the agreed timelines
- Employing faculties based on NUC requirements to get a mix of international and local faculties
- Ensuring full time-part time faculty ratio as well as student-faculty ratios are maintained
- Maintaining faculty and staff databases (full time/part time) through online submission, recruitment agents and direct application
- Ensuring complete employee planning process as per the teaching loads, recruitment criteria and grading scales
- Ensuring proper introduction and orientation of new employees to their new environment and making them feel comfortable
- Handing over proper JDs to convey what is expected from employees on the job and the organization
- Proper orientation on goal settings, evaluation systems and reporting systems
- Processing of feedback during probation
- Collecting and updating employee database
- Ensuring proper employee files are audited and evaluating faculty/staff as per evaluation manuals and their goal setting achievements
- Organizing get-togethers and other togetherness events
- Ensuring faculty and staff satisfaction surveys, feedback, grievances, and addressing mechanism and procedures
- Ensuring employee retention and productivity.
- To have an effective recruitment policy the Staff Search Committee is put in place, constituting the Dean, HEAD HR and concerned HOD. The committee engages in identifying suitable candidates for vacant positions from various sources
- The Staff Search Committee initiates the process of staff recruitment based on the vacancy arising due to resignation, termination, retirement, promotion, and/or additional staff requirements because of the expansion of operations
- The Department Head in coordination with HR and the Dean plan for staff resource requirements for the Academic Year and identify/recruit suitable candidate(s) for the Academic Support Service positions.

- At least 10 years experience in managing a busy library, preferably an academic library

Q: How long will it take for a Visa process?
A: Post successful & positive Security Check process, depending on the country, Visa takes 5 – 7 working days to get received, unless in a case of Visa ban, classified nationality, security check, inactive green card etc. These are beyond our control and we will inform you of any such problems after we receive information from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

A: Faculty and Staff members need to get their last certificate attested from the below mentioned:
- Ministry of Higher Education of the country from where they have earned the Ph.D. degree
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country from where they have earned the Ph.D. degree
- Nigerian Embassy of the country from where they have earned the Ph.D. degree
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria.

Q: How is Employee Orientation done in SUN?
A: SUN carries out employment orientation to the newly appointed employees in order to get them acquainted to the roles and responsibilities of the job, reporting systems and to achieve functional coordination desired between different departments. The orientation aims to provide information to new employee and enable them to carry out their required functions, roles and responsibilities in an effective manner.
The main focus of the SUN orientation process is to:
- Enable new employees to settle down as soon as possible in the multicultural work environment
- Enable new employees build relationships and rapport with colleagues
- Understand the scope of the academic responsibilities of their position
- Get acquainted with the functionalities of SUN in a holistic manner.
Q: Is outside employment permissible in SUN?
A: Full-time Faculty and Staff Members are not allowed to be employed or teach in any other institution. Outside employment is considered a Breach of Contract.
Q: What are the working hours of SUN?
A: SUN observes five days a week. The daily working hours from Monday to Friday are 0830Hrs to 1800Hrs with a break period taken as per the schedule provided by the individual's department head. Please note that these working hours and other provisions provided may be modified from time to time by the management for operational reasons as per SUN Policy and Procedure.
