Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Workshop: Facilitator Urged Private Pre-Varsity Schools to Adapt to Changes in Technology

The Workshop, an initiative of Skyline University Nigeria, was the second edition of its kind in pursuit of the objectives of the university to promote capacity-building in Nigeria, part of the university’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

While making his presentation, Dr. Deepak described Artificial Intelligence as the theory and development of computer systems or robots able to perform tasks that normally required human intelligence, such as visual perception, decision-making, and translation between languages. “AI is changing the business operations in our day to day lives”, he added.

He remarked that artificial intelligence is used when machines copy the cognitive functions of the human brain in learning and solving problems. “The world can use artificial intelligence to solve food and mobility problems through creative thinking, and innovation”, he stated.

The one-day workshop was held at the Entrepreneurship Lab of the university’s campus and featured participants from a pool of secondary schools in Kano Metropolis. Dr. Deepak expressed hope that participants would be able to replicate what is learnt in their various secondary schools.
