WTC CHANGING GEAR

Changing Gear: Skyline University Nigeria hosts Students of Government Girls College (WTC)

The management of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has received the final-year students of Government Girls College (WTC) for its ongoing changing gear workshop. The program, aimed at enabling final-year students to make the right career decisions, has trained a multitude of students in Kano since its inception.

Prof. Bashiru Adeniyi, the Dean of the School of Legal Studies (SLS), delivered a lecture to the students. His lecture, titled ‘The Judiciary as the Last Hope for the Common Man’, discussed how the law is important in binding society together for even growth and development. Prof. Adeniyi said that “a judge is important in settling community disputes, hence resorting to sanity and easing tensions in the community.”

The dean reminded the students aspiring to choose law as a career path to be focused on whatever they do. He admitted that “every occupation has bag eggs and so they must be able to distinguish themselves from quacks and corrupt practices.”

He then encouraged them to take up pro bono activities after the successful completion of their careers to help people pursue their rights and advised them to not make money their major priority, as he remarked that the judiciary does not leave any room for oppression.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the students, Zainab Halliru, the head girl of Government Girls College (WTC), appreciated SUN management for organizing the workshop for them. She said the information they have received is a lifetime learning experience that will benefit them forever.
