The former governor of Anambra State and Nigerian presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, has paid a courtesy visit to the management of Skyline University Nigeria today, 25th March, 2024. As a seasoned businessman and revered politician, his visit was to familiarize himself with and discuss areas of collaboration with the university.
Mr. Obi was received by the Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Nitin Anand, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., the registrar, Mr. Ahmed Muhammed Abdullahi, the Director of Marketing and Communications (DOMC), Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Isma’il, the Head Librarian, Dr. Abdullahi Bala Shehu, the Director of Academic Support Services (DASS), Ms. Sarada Maganti, the Deans and other principal officers of the university.
In his remarks, the Pro-Chancellor said SUN is pleased to receive a highly decorated national figure on its campus today. He lauded the efforts of Mr. Obi in national building and appreciated his courtesy visit on behalf of the board of trustees and governance of the university.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Obi said, “Let me start by thanking the management of Skyline University Nigeria. I was really impressed touring the facility.” He also admitted that “I recently knew about the university, but I was really amazed touring the facility.”
He lauded the effort of establishing the university as the first private university in Kano State with facilities standards comparable to others anywhere in the world. He then advised parents who plan to send their wards for higher education to send them to SUN for a qualitative education.
The Vice-Chancellor of SUN remarked words of appreciation on behalf of the university’s management to Mr. Obi for his visit. He was generously awarded a memento and the recently published Newsline magazine of the university.
Together with SUN principal officers, Mr. Obi toured the exhilarating campus of SUN, which includes a world-class library, an ultramodern common room and gym, and the ICT department, among others.
