This was revealed on Monday 21st October 2019 when the Management team of SUN paid an official visit to BUK. The visiting team from Skyline University Nigeria present at the meeting included the Vice-Chancellor, Profesor Sudhakar Kota, the Registrar, Mr. Firoj Routa and the Head of Corporate Affairs, Engr. Bashir Garba.
The Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Professor Sudhakar Kota, speaking on the purpose of his team visit to BUK applauded the many accomplishments and recognitions that BUK had attained as validated by both national and global rankings since her inception and noted that through BUK’s mentorship SUN is becoming an excellent brand among private universities in Nigeria. Hence, the intent to seek the National Universities Commission’s (NUC’s) approval for additional undergraduate courses in medical sciences and request BUK’s support for guidance.
Professor Sudhakar Kota added that while additional undergraduate Programmemes in medical courses are important for the status of the university, SUN is already seeking collaboration with the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) to enhance the commencement of the intended undergraduate Programmemes.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello stated that mentoring period as per the National Universities Commission’s (NUC’s) guideline is five years and within this period we hope that SUN would adopt the carefully framed core values geared at addressing issues of national and global interest to become the best private University in Nigeria.
Professor Muhammad tasked the visiting team to ensure that they strive to uphold a passion to drive the vision and mission that led to the establishment of the institution. He agreed on behalf of the institution of higher learning to provide guidance and promised to visit Skyline University Nigeria.
