While speaking to an audience comprised of the top management of the university, i.e. the Vice-Chancellor – Professor Sudhakar Kota, the Director of Academic Support Services – Ms. Sarada Maganti, the Head of Corporate Affairs – Engr. Bashir Garba, the Head of Human Resource (HR) – Mr. Rotimi Oluwaseun and the Students Service Counselor – Mr. Nazim Islam, the Chairman, Kano State Chapter of CIPM, Nasiru B. Salisu said that there were prospects and opportunities for collaboration to develop students and HR personnel capacities.
He explained that “the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria was established as an umbrella Association for Practitioners of Personnel Management to promote excellence and regulate the ecosystem for people management to deliver value for sustainable growth of individuals, organizations and nations”. “We believe we can collaborate with Skyline University Nigeria in various aspects, particularly in HR management, Students’ training, workshops etc. through exposure to professional practice while still in school”, He added.
Earlier in his welcome remark, the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria said that the management thought it was important to allow the members of the visiting institute to discuss with some of the students, especially those who are into management courses on how the students would benefit from CIPM. The Vice-Chancellor added that SUN would like the collaborations to extend to internship and placements opportunities for the students.
