Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) Organizes Workshop for Private Pre-Varsity Schools in Kano Metropolis

The workshop with the theme ‘Leadership in Academics: The ways forward’ was organized on Saturday, 7th December 2019 by the Marketing Department of the university, coordinated by the Students Service Department (SSD), Sports, Corporate Affairs etc. to train the trainers (schools owners, management and teachers) in students’ knowledge acquisition and utilization.

Making his presentation on the theme of the workshop, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sudhakar Kota, said that studies have shown that students who are inspired by a leader (teacher) typically have higher productivity rates than students who do not have such inspired leaders. He added that schools whose leaders are visionary also enjoy greater benefits in terms of the development of their students at a competitive cost.

Professor Sudhakar Kota described the workshop as a business that would enhance knowledge, adding that whatever happened at the event would further the secondary schools’ vision of becoming one of the top twenty in Kano.

Earlier in her welcome remark, Ms. Sarada Maganti, the Director of Academic Support Service (DASS) posited that the workshop was a special Programmeme with the maiden at the university to foster interaction between the university and secondary schools for a cross-pollination of ideas that all sides could benefit from.

The changing the gear workshop had in attendance over 76 participants from a pool of secondary schools in Kano Metropolis. The Programmeme ended with presentation of certificates of attendance to the participants.
