Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) Receives Commendation From NUC’s Inspection Team

The Chairman of the Commission’s four-man inspection team, Prof. Mala M. Daura, accompanied by Ashafa Ladan (Deputy Director of Resource & Strategic Planning), Oguntimehin Adewuola O. (Assistant Chief & Monitoring officer) and Garba Abdullahi (Senior Student Support Officer), says “What we have seen in Skyline University Nigeria is changing our perspective about the Nigerian educational system – particularly private universities and what Skyline has been able to achieve in this short term of its commencement is beyond our expectations.”

This inspection call was the first of its kind in the institution since the provisional license was issued to the university by the NUC in 2018. Speaking during the visit, Oguntimehin remarks, “We are here to follow up on academic and non-academic Programmemes and facilities at all levels so that you can make the environment beautiful for the students. However, where issues are raised, we would love if the issues are addressed”.

The human and material resources available in the University were assessed by the panel in order to determine the basis for the approval of its provisional license as well as follow up on approval of undergraduate Programmemes including Economics; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Business Administration; Accounting; Mass Communication; International Relations; Chemistry; Industrial Chemistry; Geology; Computer Science & Information Systems; Biology; Bio-Chemistry; Physics with Electronics; Microbiology; and Software Engineering.

Prof. Mala M. Daura further commended SUN for adopting an overseas standard of the campus facility. He said, “As a team, the NUC has continued to send its members to overseas school for training and benchmarking. But what I see here, I can say without reservation, surpasses some of the overseas campuses”.

Receiving the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Prof. Sudhakar Kota appreciated the inspection team for their positive remark on what the institution has put in place so far and shared the aspiration of the university to become a world-class university renowned for quality Programmemes and research.

He posited that “the approval received is a validation of the quality of Programmemes the university has been running from the early years in the UAE, which SUN has incorporated to enhance the academic capacity of its faculty, build its staff development base and train students to become good ambassadors for Skyline University Nigeria.”
