SUN hosts Toast Masters’ speech contest

Toast Masters International is a non-profit educational organization conceived to promote communication, public speaking, and leadership skills and has its headquarter in United States.

The contest involved five members of the club and was divided into two sessions – Tall Tale Speech and Evaluation Contest.

Three contestants participated in the speech contest and two in the evaluation test.

Abdulraheem Oreagba, Kamal Abdulmajid and Farouk Bishi vied for the top prize in speech contest while the duo of Mohammed Auwal and Usama Abdulrazaq targeted the evaluation diadem.

Bishi, who presented a speech titled: “Brave Hearts, Rocket Launched Human Journey,” went home with the gold plated trophy, brushing aside the challenges of Oreagba (This Is My Nigeria) and Abdulmajid (A Pilot For A Day).

Usama Abdulrazaq won the evaluation contest.

The president of the club, Emdee Tiamiyu, thanked management of SUN for hosting the club.

He said the club is open is interested members of public.

The Vice Chancellor of SUN, Prof. P.K Biswas, commended the Toast Masters Club for its giant strides over the years.

He also highlighted the university’s mission in the nation’s educational sector and called for the club’s support in achieving the tasks.
